Grade 6 - Learning how to create a Full Scale Drawing

To all ODD section 6th Graders:

Depending upon weekly schedule and Christmas Vacation we will be starting to learn how to create a full scale drawing.

Students will learn how to set up their drawing with a boarder and information box. From there they will be shown how to use their boarder to create their first practice drawing. The drawing will have two views: Front and Side. The Front will show the 3" x 4" side and the side will be 3" x 1".

Once the student has completed all parts of the practice drawing they will use what they have learned to complete 2 full scale drawings on their own which will be graded.

Grade 7 - Learning Different Number Systems - Hexadecimal

To all ODD section 7th graders:

Depending upon the weekly schedule we will be starting to work on the Hexadecimal (HEX) worksheets.

The first sheet has you convert from Base 10 to Base 16 / Hex. Upon successful completion of the first sheet you should move on to the second one that has you go in the opposite direction; from Base 16 /Hex back to Base 10.

Each sheet has 10 problems which means you will have completed 20 problems total.


Remember, the HEX systems goes from 0 through F. The letters are used to take the place of double digit decimal numbers. 

A = 10 ,  B = 11, C = 12,  D = 13, E = 14, F = 15

If you have any questions be sure to get them answered as soon as possible.

Grade 7 - Learning Different Number systems - Binary worksheets are now due

To all ODD section 7th graders.

The two worksheets labelled Decimal to Binary and Binary back to Decimal are now due.


Each student should have the Binary Addition Rules on their paper when they pass them in.

Grade 8 - Project 2 - Improving your site - Is now due for grading

To all ODD section 8th graders.

Project 2 is now due for grading. This project had the students improving their site Virtual Pizza restaurant using: Character Entities, the <hr> and <img> tag and the attributes.

Grade 7 - Different Number Systems - Learning Octal

To all ODD section students:

The two worksheets for the Octal number system has been passed out.

The first sheet has you convert from Base 10 to Base 8 / Octal. Upon successful completion of the first sheet you should move on to the second one that has you go in the opposite direction; from Base 8 /Octal back to Base 10.

Grade 8 - Introduction to HTML 5 - Project 3 - Lists, Lists and more lists.

To all Grade 8 ODD section students.

 Schedule permitting all students should be moving onto HTML Project 3.

Project three has the students adding more font styling by using the Italics, Bold, and Underline tags along with learning how to use 3 different types of Lists. Description, Un-ordered and Ordered.

If any student needs additional help please speak with Mr. Falcon to arrange something during a study.

Do Not Delete Your Site from Project 1 or 2, TAKE a Copy and use the copy to create a new site. I repeat, you are keeping all of your different versions.   


Grade 6 - Project 1 - Learning how to measure in inches

To all 6th Grade students:

Project 1 - Measuring in Inches has begun. You have two classes to finish all three parts. Be sure to use the proper measuring tool for each measurement. For example, you should not be using a tape measure to get the length of the blue pen,

Grade 7 - Design Process Part 2 is now due for grading

To all ODD section 7th grade students:

With Thanksgiving now behind us all students should have their Part 2 ready for grading. Be sure to following the project and the rubric to insure all requirements and questions have been met and answered.

If you have any questions to have them answered as soon as possible.

Grade 8 - HTML5 Project 1 is Due

To all 8th Grade ODD Section students:

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday we are announcing this again.  HTML5 - Project 1 is due for grading. Be sure to have your code and web page graded as soon as possible. If you are concerned that you might have missed something use the grading rubric on the back of the project as a guide. Go over each item to make sure you completed the task per the project instructions.

Grade 7 - Different Number Systems - Learning Binary

To all ODD section 7 grade students

The first worksheet for Binary has been handed out.

Converting from Base 10 to Base 2 Binary. Once completed you will then add the binary numbers together on the back of the worksheet.  There are 10 answers so you should end up with 5 addition problems since each problem needs two binary numbers.

Each student should have the Binary Addition Rules on their paper when they pass them in.

When you are done you will move to the second worksheet called Converting from Binary back Base 10.

Grade 7 - Engineering Design Process Part 2 - A new record

Sadly just as we were about to take another picture showing just how tall the student's stack of books had grown... it fell. Below is the last picture taken before that fall.


Thankfully no books were injured in the test of this stage. Below are more of the students who were tested.









Grade 8 - Introduction to HTML 5 - Project 1 is now Due.

Project 1 - Creating your first website is now due. This project had the students begin the process of creating a simply website for an online Pizza restaurant menu. The students had 2 classes to complete this project.

Grade 7 Engineering Design Project Part 2 - Results Keep Coming



Don't let the calm and composed look fool you, the above student was beyond nervous when the weights first started to be placed on her stage. Needless to say, she was very happy with her results. Here are more students who have had their stages tested.

Grade 8 - Introduction to HTML 5 - Project 1 - Creating your first webpage

To all ODD section 8th grade students.


Schedule permitting all grade 8 students will be given their first HTML 5 project. The students have two classes to complete this project.

The project has the students create a website for their very own Virtual Pizza Restaurant. Using what they have learned they will code up their site which "potential customers" would use to find prices, types of pizzas, explanations for each pizza, all their contact info and an allergy warning.

Grade 7 - Engineering Design Project Part 2 - Bigger and better results


You are looking at one very happy, and a bit shocked, student. Holding up all that weight is nothing more then 1 manila folder and 24 inches of masking tape. So far this stage has held the most but there are plenty of students who haven't tested yet who are ready to beat this record. Below are more students with their stage right before testing.










Grade 7 - Engineering Design Project Part2 - Testing has begun

Students from ODD sections have begun testing their prototypes and the results are pretty incredible.


 The picture shows one of the stages holding up three weight lifting plates (25lb, 10lb, and a 5lb) in addition to the books on top of that. Here are some of the students who have tested so far.



















With more and more students now building their prototypes we'll be sure to post as many photos of their hard work as possible. So come back soon so you don't miss anything.

Grade 8 - AutoCAD

To all EVEN section students


AutoCAD is a commercial software application for 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting. AutoCAD is used across a wide range of industries, by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers, and many other professionals.

Prior to students working independently in AutoCAD they are instructed as a group on how to use the software to create basic drawings.


Drawing Commands and Topics:

Copy    Move   Trim    Zoom   Pan      Mirror

RELATIVE RECTANGULAR COORDINATES allow you to specify a position along the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis to locate a point relative to the last point you specified.
