Grade 7 - Engineering Design Process - Stage Project

To all ODD section 7th graders. The stage project is now underway. All students should be working to complete the first part of the Stage Project. 

Those steps are:

1. Identifying the Problems
2. Researching for ideas
3. Developing three potential ideas
4. Selecting the Best solution.

     

If you have any questions be sure to speak with Mr. Falcon as soon as possible.

Grade 8 - First Database Project using Access

 The first project is being assigned to all 8th grade classes. Within MS Access the students must create a table with all the proper fields and title. The students are to then enter their Album data (from their homework) into the table and perform queries to obtain the answers from the project.

The students have two classes to complete this project.

If you have any questions be sure to speak with Mr. Falcon as soon as possible.

8th Grade Database Homework for ACCESS

Reminder to all Odd Section 8th graders:

Be sure to bring in your list of 15 different albums and their data.

1. Artist Name
2. Album Title
3. Number of Tracks
4. (Student will pick something that is common to all albums)
5. (Student will pick something that is common to all albums)

This information is needed to complete the first project. The information you provide will be what is entered into your Database.

This lets us know you have read the course outline and agree to the class expectations, routines and discipline policy. Remember to return them by next cycle to receive full credit.

Welcome Back Everyone

Mr. Medeiros and Mr Falcon would like to welcome all new and returning students to Somerset Middle School. The Engineering ./ Technology Dept has a ton of exciting projects ready for all students to enjoy. 

We hope to use this website to keep everyone informed of all activities within our department. We are looking to highlight student work through pictures and maybe even video. Speaking of our projects most of them are hands-on which helps reinforce much of the theory behind the subject matter. 

This website will provide parents with updates on when projects begin, when they are due and what the project will cover. Please feel free to leave comments, ask questions and let others know about the work being done by the Somerset Middle School students.
