To all 6th grade students in sections 11 through 14
The Design process project is underway. Students will following the design process to help them research, design and build their "stage". Unique ideas are always encouraged. Good Luck and Good Design to all. Below are two designs that took a different approach then many others.
Remember, your design can end up being quite impressive.
8th grade - Introduction to Robotics
The first class of 8th Grade student have completed the Binary worksheets and are now working on Robotics Projects. The remaining 8th grade classes will be finishing very soon and will also be moving onto Robotics
The students will first build their starting robot then start in on the "Driving Test" by completing all four objectives.
1. 5-3-4
2. Parallel Parking
3. Block Push (Called the O'Brian)
4. Slalom Course
If any student(s) has not completed their project(s) please see Mr. Falcon to obtain any extra help they may request and/or to make up any work.

After some hard fought sectional matches we have winners from 8-15, 8-16, 8-17 and 8-18 seen below.
They will now compete in the Semifinals to see who will earn a spot in the finals.

We are happy to announce the Round Robin Schedules for the second half of the year are set up and ready to be played. Next week teams will have their robot inspected in order to qualify for the competition. Reminder of the most important requirements:
1. Robots may not move or expand for the first 5 seconds of all matches.
2. Robots must fit in the 8"x 7" box and not expand until after the 5 seconds.
3. Robots must have their cables routing internally to protect them.
4. All sensor must be protected from contact except the button which requires contact.

To all 6th graders in sections 15 to 18 the programming projects have begun. You will make use of Tynker.com to help learn the basics of programming.

Students will learn how to measure down to a 1/16" accuracy. Which will then get them started on the next project covering Full Scale Drawings.
